Monk connects to Stripe through Stripe Connect and listens to Stripe events in real time. This keeps invoice status, payments, credit notes, and refunds aligned between the two systems.

Authentication

  • Monk uses Stripe Connect OAuth to authorize access to your Stripe account.
  • Stripe API keys and webhook signing secrets are encrypted at rest.
  • You can disconnect Monk from your Stripe dashboard at any time.

Multi-entity, currency, and parent-child

  • Connected accounts: If you use Stripe Connect, each connected account can map to a separate Monk org so payments and invoices stay in the right legal entity.
  • Currency: Stripe transactions carry their original currency. Monk stores invoice and payment amounts in the transaction currency and records exchange rates when Stripe provides them.
  • Customers: Stripe supports grouped customers through metadata; Monk preserves the customer identity and any grouping values sent from Stripe.

  • Connected account mapping: choose which Stripe account each Monk org connects to.
  • Customer sync scoping: sync all customers, only a named allowlist, or exclude specific Stripe customer IDs.
  • Invoice filtering: control which Monk invoices create Stripe invoices (for example, exclude zero-total or draft invoices).
  • Auto-payment collection: honor Stripe auto-pay settings and saved payment methods.
  • Webhook event selection: Monk listens to the events needed to keep payment and credit-note state current.
  • Refund behavior: credit notes in Stripe backfill as Monk credit memos.
