Create your first Plan

This guide walks you through creating a plan that combines fixed fees with usage-based pricing.
What are plans? Plans are pricing templates that bundle together fees, usage pricing, and billing terms. Learn more about plans →

Prerequisites

  • A Monk account with dashboard access
  • At least one meter created

Steps

1. Navigate to Plans

  1. Open your Monk dashboard
  2. Click Products in the navigation
  3. Select Plans

2. Create the Plan

Click Create Plan and fill in the basics:

3. Add Fixed Fee

  1. Click Add Pricing Item
  2. Select Fixed Charge
  3. Configure:
    • Name: Monthly Subscription
    • Amount: $50.00
    • Frequency: Monthly

4. Add Usage Pricing

  1. Click Add Pricing Item again
  2. Select Usage-Based
  3. Configure:
    • Meter: API Calls (from your meter)
    • Rate: $0.10 per call

5. Save

Click Save. Your plan is ready to use in contracts.

Create a plan with included free usage:
